NOT one of the places you want to visit. Take it from me. I was, for nearly six years, a resident. As scary as it may sound, going through those doors represented a massive growth opportunity. And against all odds, I made it back out...
I reveled in my stay. Rather than cry in my gruel, I decided to be the happiest prisoner. Treating it like a journalism assignment, I discovered ways to make it fun. Looking for opportunity, with an open mind and willingness to jump in, I learned how to do all sorts of wonderful things. Such as:
Yeah, it sounds like I went off my meds... but it's all true.
My prison time was some of the best years of my life. Toughened me up. Made me into the man I never was. Since I got out five years ago, life has been even more awesome since I brought the optimism and positive attitude home with me.
Today, I have a very rich, blessed life. Even better, I've been lucky enough to meet some incredible people who got me to tell the whole sordid tale.
